51 y/o F presents for diagnostic MRI to assess calcifications. What is the diagnosis?

EXTENSIVE FAT NECROSIS

  • Isointense-hypointense T1 signal centrally on sequences – almost identical to fat
  • Rim of the mass commonly enhances to varying degrees
  • This is a case of lupus mastitis (publication below)
