AMORPHOUS CALCIFICATIONS

  • Small and/or hazy (shape cannot be determined)
  • Can be benign or malignant
  • Typically low-grade DCIS if cancer
  • PPV of malignancy is 20%*
    • BI-RADS 2: diffuse and bilateral
    • BI-RADS 3: multiple bilateral grouped
    • BI-RADS 4: unilateral grouped, linear or segmental or new
