LACTATING ADENOMA

  • Typically indistinguishable from fibroadenomas on imaging but may see hyperechoic area representing fat from milk
  • Regress spontaneously after pregnancy/lactation
  • Painful firm mass suggests infarction (5%)
  • Bromocriptine can be used to decrease size
  • No increased risk of malignancy
